From generation to generation, since 1890, Pellegrino family is involved in growing olive trees and producing Extravirgin Olive Oil. Pellegrino 1890 srl consolidates during more than a century the great entrepreneurial adventure of the Pellegrino Family, whose fortune, energies and entrepreneurial abilities are now left to the new generation; at present Elia and Maria Teresa are involved in upgrading the local agricultural production, and above all extra virgin olive oil.The frantoio (olive mill) is located in an old "Masseria", whose origins date back to 1544. The production process of EVOO is carried out according to artisan methods but in a modern mill, renewed in 2020. The native olive variety of this part of Puglia is Coratina, extremely rich in polyphenols and for this reason mostly considered a real nutraceutical ingredient. Peranzana and Carolea, sweeter olive varieties, represent the best blending solution to attenuate the strong flavours of Coratina. Both products and production systems are certificated with high level standards. Furthermore, to underline the absolute experience in their skills, Maria Teresa and Elia Pellegrino, together with the Production Director, are professional EVOO tasters. Also the title of Master of Frantoio was achieved by Elia and the Production Director.Pellegrino 1890 has a complete catalogue of bottles, cans and terracotta jars, but also bottles for local and international companies for their own brands.
